EN - I'm getting more and more interested in historical patterns, especially the ones from viking time and earlier : Migration period and Iron Age. It's so fascinating to think they have been woven so long ago ! During this winter I'm weaving some of these patterns, all quite simple, here are the newly finished bands ! (Except for the blue Birka, they are available in the shop.) Tiny Oseberg (Norway, 9th century), a very easy thus quick pattern, and so thin ! EN - A pattern inspired by the Birka finds (9th-10th century Sweden, original is brocaded silver on silk), I just love it ! EN - Snartemo 2 (6th century Norway), the little brother of the wonderful and so complex Snartemo 1 (soon to be tested). This one is very easy and relaxing to weave, and I love to add little variations when I change direction.

I tried to get those cool little patterns on the Snartemo 2 I did but I couldn’t figure them out. Is that the skip hole or a four warps to a card? I did the skip hole. There is one that looks the same on tangled threads anglo saxon 6th. But the back of the weave doesn’t look nice, according to the pattern picture, it’s a mess.
